How many do you use? I use 25 of them on the list. It is surprising to see the tools that we use in order to function every day. I was not surprised about Twitter being number one. People now days cannot walk, talk, eat or workout without tweeting about it. I was surprised to see Facebook fall down in the rank. LinkedIn is becoming more, and more popular for professional profiles. Pretty cool to see what we use every day, and the importance of each tool. Wonder what the next 2015 List is going to look like! -Haley | 1 - Twitter 2 - Google Docs/Drive 3 - YouTube 4 - PowerPoint 5 - Google Search 6 - WordPress 7 - Dropbox 8 - Evernote 9 - Facebook 10 - LinkedIn 11 - Google+ & Hangouts 12 - Moodle 13 - Prezi 14 - Pinterest 15 - Slideshare 16 - Blogger 17 - Word 18 - Wikipedia 19 - Feedly 20 - Diigo 21 - Articulate 22 - Audacity 23 - Camtasia 24 - Yammer 25 - Skype 26 - TED/TED Ed 27 - Google Chrome 28 - Google Scholar 29 - Scoopit 30 - Snagit 31 - Gmail 32 - Adobe Connect 33 - Adobe Captivate 34 - Flipboard 35 - Kindle (& App) 36 - Outlook 37 - iSpring 38 - Coursera 39 - Hootsuite 40 - Khan Academy 41 - Edmodo 42 - Adobe Photoshop 43 - Excel 44 - Google Maps 45 - Zite 46- Powtoon NEW 47 - iPad & Apps 48 - Padlet 49 - Pocket 50 - Udutu | 51 - Tweetdeck 52 - Voicethread 53 - Explain Everything NEW 54 - Jing 55 - Flickr 56 - Nearpod NEW 57 - Keynote 58 - Quizlet 59 - Storify 60 - WebEx 61 - Mahara BACK 62 - SurveyMonkey 63 - iTunes 64 - Google Translate 65 - SharePoint 66 - Haiku Deck NEW 67 - IFTTT NEW 68 - OneNote 69 - Google Apps 70 - Poll Everywhere 71 - Blackboard Collaborate 72 - Socrative 73 - Wordle 74 - Notability NEW 75 - Google Sites 76 - Delicious 77 - Glogster EDU 78 - Canvas NEW 79 - Tumblr 80 - Vimeo 81 - Kahoot NEW 82 - OpenOffice 83 - WhatsApp 84 - Wikispaces 85 - Instagram NEW 86 - Pearltrees 87 - Easygenerator NEW 88 - Voki 89 - Lectora BACK 90 - EDpuzzle NEW 91 - Blackboard Learn 92 - Firefox 93 - Paperli 94 - TodaysMeet 95 - LINE NEW 96 - ProProfs Quizmaker 97 - Moovly NEW 98 - Schoology NEW 99 - Blendspace NEW 100 - SoftChalk NEW |

Wow! Technology today! Just when you think you are in the know, you have NO idea! Technology today is advancing, and at a fast paste. I graduated with my BS in 2013, and kinda of got out of the technology world. It is now 2015, and the advances are amazing!! Kin 710 has opened my eyes to a whole new world, and the advantages of "BEING IN THE KNOW".
Web Learning use to be horrible, and one could never get the information that was needed or the limitations were too great to get anything done. Now, online learning is the way to go! Anything you could possibly want to know one can find on the Net. "LIMIATIONS" Ha! That word does not exist now in the Web 2.0. Dreaminder ( http://dreaminder.com/ )
This was my favorite tool at of the whole list. I have used most of these tools before in previous college course. I have not come used the Dreaminder before, and I am very excited that I have come across it now. The page lets you create, write, and blog about your future dreams. Then it ask you the send your dream to the future, and you set up a time to remind you of your dreams. Has if it could not get any better; you can read other people’s dreams, and inspiration for motivation to reach your goals. I have copied in the link for you at the top. Check it out if you would like. Great website! -Haley I use podcast all the time for my own personal use. I always listen to different workout pods, Dave Ramsey shows, and Entrepreneurship pods all the time. They are super convent to access when you are on the go. Podcating in Education makes E Learning much easier to the students who learn better by listening to the lecture. I learn a lot quicker when I can hear the lectures. Also it saves time for me because I am a slow reader ,and not every student have the time to sit, and read the long lectures.
A video I just got finished watching (video in motivation tab) really intrigued my thoughts. This video really changed my way of thinking, and reminded of a lost characteristics I had when I was younger. The video helped me redirect my wavering thoughts I had about the direction in life I was going.
I am going to share with you a few things I feel are my strengths, and weaknesses are. My strengths I am very assertive when I feel the need to be. I have great room presence (thanks ma for staying on me about my posture) when I enter a room. If there is an escalated situation I react quickly to deescalate it. I remain professional, and calm in unpredictable moments. I immediately take over the situation to make things run smoother. I am a natural leader, and motivator. Weakness Public speaking, or reading it makes me nervous. If you need me to spell something you are out of luck because I suck at it. The subject of Writing/English is like a foreign language to me. I can read a book better backwards then I can forward. Conclusion I like when Marcus Buckingham stated “Focus on your strengths, and work on improving those”. I was always taught to focus on the weakness, and make them your strengths. Which made me think harder about my weakness. I have been giving special attention to my weaknesses to improve them; I still find that I suck at writing, and spelling. Yes, I have improved a “little”, but no way would you want me teaching the subject. By doing this I put what I was really good at to the side. The moral of this whole thing is whatever you are good at stick with it, and become the very best you can be at it. My Grandma use to say “Don’t be a Jack of all trades, because then you are a master at nothing". My goal is to master my Master’s program, and become the best I can be at being a leader, motivator, and mentor to future athletes. Microblogging in education has been proven to be very beneficial to teachers. The Weebly website is a great example of this statement. Teachers are able to keep the students and parents up to date about what is going on in class each day. Kids can submit question, and assignments that go directly to the teacher’s emails. Most importantly, microblogging helps maintain a professional connection between both parties. Athletics can use microblogging to market their program, and have their athletes professionally promoted for future athletic careers. Microblogging gives athletes free and unlimited exposure across the country and world. This technology eliminates having to pay a third party marketing rep thousands of dollars to expose the athletes.
Sites I would normally use to learn new things on:
Youtube Google’ News websites The internet is an awesome tool when I need to know something fast, and I am focused on my assignments. It is those time where I feel sleepy, or unfocused I find myself using the computer for everything else but homework. Technology is a great tool for learning because of the unlimited resources it has. I much rather in a teaching setting have the kids use pencil and paper to do their work. I don’t have to worry with what are they searching, and are they doing their work? |
